Headache Care Center consists of a team of dedicated professional medical specialists representing family practice, neurology, internal medicine, psychology, and physical therapy, together with an outstanding nursing and administrative staff to offer comprehensive patient services and individual attention. While research and education are vital to maintaining up-to-date knowledge and keeping abreast of new medical advancements, the clinic focuses on utilizing that knowledge to constantly improve patient care and provide the finest health care to our patients.

Roger K. Cady, MD
Dr. Cady is the founder of Headache Care Center, Clinvest, and Primary Care Education Network. He is a graduate of the Mayo Medical School, and is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice. His board certification in Headache Medicine was awarded by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties, and he holds a Certificate of Added Qualification through the National Board of Certification in Headache Management. He is a member of multiple medical associations, including the American Medical Association, the National Headache Foundation, the American Headache Society, the American Academy of Pain Management, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Cady is best known in the medical community for his pivotal contributions in the field of headache and migraine management. He was the
co-recipient of the prestigious Wolff Award in 2000 from the American Headache Society for his research entitled “The Spectrum of Headache”. He is well-published and has presented countless lectures and seminars around the world on headache, migraine, and other chronic disorders, and continues to be the principal investigator in numerous multi-center research studies. Dr. Cady currently serves on 12 Advisory Boards and is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Headache Foundation.
 
   
Curtis P. Schreiber, MD
Dr. Schreiber is a Partner and Medical Director of Primary Care Education Network. He received his medical degree from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN, and completed his neurology residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Neurology and has a special interest in the prevention and treatment of headache and migraine. His board certification in Headache Medicine was awarded by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties, and he holds a Certificate of Added Qualification through the National Board of Certification in Headache Management.  As the Medical Director of Medical Programs at Primary Care Education Network he is involved in the development and delivery of CME for physicians across the country. At Headache Care Center he is involved in both clinical practice and research. Dr. Schreiber’s original training was in Electrical Engineering. He worked for the California Institute of Technology at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, as a spacecraft systems design engineer for the NASA Galileo spacecraft, which orbited Jupiter. He keeps in touch with his electronics background through his hobby of restoring 1930’s tube radios.

Biography
   
J. Kent Dexter, MD

Dr. Dexter earned his degree in Internal Medicine from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and his board certification in Headache Medicine was awarded by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties, and he holds a Certificate of Added Qualification through the National Board of Certification in Headache Management. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and is a member of the American Medical Society and the American Headache Society. Dr. Dexter received his undergraduate degree in math and chemistry from Baker University, and pursued graduate studies in the field of human anatomy at the University of Kansas prior to joining the U.S. Air Force, where he studied computer science. Dr. Dexter previously served as Chairman of Medicine for St. Johns Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri; Chairman of Medicine for St. Johns Physicians and Clinics, Springfield, Missouri; and Chairman of Primary Care, Monroe Clinic, Monroe, Wisconsin.  He returned to Springfield in 2003 to serve as the Medical Director of Headache Care Center, where in addition to his full-time clinical practice and research, he is involved in the development and management of the medical services provided at Headache Care Center.

   
Kathleen Farmer, PsyD

Dr. Farmer is a psychologist specializing in Health Psychology at Headache Care Center, as well as the CME Director of Primary Care Education Network, an organization of over 72,000 clinicians linked via the Internet. A Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management, she is the co-author of the patient education book Headache Free. She has conducted research in the non-pharmacological treatment of disabling headaches, with special interest in pediatric migraine and cognitive efficiency associated with migraine. Dr. Farmer speaks extensively about the therapeutic value of biofeedback for the treatment of chronic disorders and pain. Dr. Farmer was the chair of the Psychology Department of the Shealy Institute for the Comprehensive Management of Pain from 1988 to 1995.


Biography
 
Steven J. Boling, PsyD

Dr. Boling has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, a Masters Degree in School Counseling, and a Doctoral Degree in Psychology. His professional experience includes 17 years working with the juvenile corrections and adult probation and parole population with an emphasis in inmate rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.  In addition, he worked several years as a mental health provider in both inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. His current interests include chronic pain management from a holistic perspective, including wellness strategies, biofeedback, stress reduction, relaxation skills, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Dr. Boling is a member of the American Psychological Association.

Debra J. Arnold, PT Ms. Arnold received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from St. Louis University. Her years of practice include experience in in-patient acute care and rehabilitation, home health care, out-patient chronic pain management, and out-patient acute adult and pediatric care. In 2000, she joined the staff of Headache Care Center, and was appointed Clinic Administrator in 2001. Debra continues a limited practice in physical therapy focused in headache management. Debra is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the National and Missouri State Medical Group Management Association, and the American Academy of Pain Management. She serves on the Advisory Board for Pain Program Accreditation, is a Program Accreditation Site Surveyor, a contributor to the Pain Program Accreditation manual, and serves on the Education Advisory Board for the American Academy of Pain Management.

Biography
   
Colleen M. Baker, PT

Ms. Baker received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado. Her years of practice experience includes pediatric therapy for the Easter Seal Society within the public and state school system; in-patient and out-patient acute, chronic, and rehabilitation care; geriatrics and skilled nursing facility care; and chronic pain management, including headache. She has special interests in treating musculo-skeletal imbalances and disorders, and cervical spine and TMJ disorders. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.


   
Gracie Wood, RN

Ms. Wood received her RN degree from Allen Memorial Lutheran School of Nursing in Waterloo, Iowa.  While in Iowa, her professional career included working with newborns in NICU, a flight nurse for NICU and pediatric cases, and she worked in an Ambulatory Surgical Center. After moving to Springfield in 2000, she joined the Headache Care Center staff.  She manages the Intensive Program, performs the I-V therapy, and oversees the nursing care at HCC.

   
Angie Gosnell, RMA

Ms.Gosnell is a graduate of Vatterott College Medical Assistant Program, and was honored as the Medical Assistant of the Year at graduation. She received her certification as a Registered Medical Assistant shortly thereafter. Since joining the Headache Center Staff, she has moved from Medical Records Coordinator to the Clinical Nursing Staff. She assists all physicians and is a strong patient advocate and educator.

   
Audrey Catlett, MA Ms.Catlett has worked in the medical field for many years, initially as a radiology technician at St. John’s Hospital. After a move to the radiology department at Ferrell-Duncan Clinic, she transitioned to a medical assistant position. Prior to joining the Headache Care Center staff, she worked 8 years assisting an Internal Medicine physician in Marionville, MO. At Headache Care Center, Ms Catlett assists all physicians with patient care and education.
   
Janet Menkens Ms. Menkens is the Appointment Coordinator and Receptionist at Headache Care Center .Originally from Iowa, Janet has experience in management in the field of cosmetology, and she owned and operated an antique store for several years. She is the voice of Headache Care Center, being the first person you speak with when you call the clinic, and the first person you see when you arrive for an appointment.
   
Teresa Thacker Ms. Thacker is a graduate of the Medical Office Assistant program at Vatterott College. As the Billing/Insurance Coordinator, Teresa oversees all billing processes at Headache Care Center. From reviewing your insurance benefits with you before your first appointment to check out after an appointment, she is able to answer your billing/insurance questions and make the financial part of your visit to Headache Care Center as stress-free as possible.
